Bahloo is a king studio inside the Ramada Resort at Urangan, with its own paved patio — table, chairs, shade from the building above — and direct access to the resort pool, which is heated through winter and left unheated in summer. No lifts, no corridors, no hunting for a lounger. It sleeps one or two.
Bahloo and Migaloo sit either side of the same dividing wall at the Ramada. They are effectively the same stay: same resort, same pool, same short walk to the marina. The only difference is the layout — Bahloo is the king studio for one or two, and Migaloo next door is the one-bedroom that sleeps four.
Inside, it is bright and hotel-tidy: a king bed, two TVs, air conditioning, a kitchenette with a bar fridge and microwave, and a bathroom with both a bath and a shower. Laundry on site, free Wi-Fi throughout, free basement parking with no dedicated spaces, and Smokey Joe's Cafe and Miss Smokey's Bar & Tapas a short walk across the resort. The resort buffet and continental breakfasts are available to guests here — they are not included in the stay and are paid for at the restaurant ($28 / $14 hot buffet, $18 / $8 continental).
Whale watching runs roughly July to October, and the boats leave from Urangan Marina four minutes' walk away — the same marina the Manta Ray vehicle ferry crosses to K'gari (Fraser Island) from. The Boat Club, cinemas, cafés and the flat waterfront walks are all within strolling distance, which makes this a genuinely car-optional stay.
